But see, this is where I have a problem with stories like these. Inmates file BS lawsuits all the time (if you notice, most of them are pro se, because believe it or not most lawyers won't have anything to do with them).

And what the media does is they report these things, and then public is automatically conditioned to presume that an inmate lawsuit is always BS.

Most of the time, I agree. But there are those cases that are legitimate. There are those cases of brutality. There are those cases of jailer misconduct. You know, a jailer's job is (surpise) to guard the jail. It is not their job to be judge or jury, it is not their job to hand out sentences, it is not their job to screw around with the inmates or play games with their medicine. And I had several clients who were legitimately mistreated by the jailers, usually by the 3rd shift guys (although I never filed any suit over it).

But, the vast majority are illegtimate (as appears to be the case with Tiny here) and the media love telling these stories.
